Probably my favourite thing about Christmas and summer is the time catching up with friends and family over a BBQ out on the deck (with the wine flowing!).   If you’re like me, there might be a few extra features on your wish list this year that would make your outdoor entertaining that much better. Laser Electrical Rosebank has won over 60 other Laser Electrical Businesses to be named Laser Electrical NZ Business of the Year 2011 at the annual International Laser conference held in Darwin Australia. With over 350 delegates attending from Laser businesses both from Australia and New Zealand and a trade expo consisting of more than 30 suppliers this was once again a large event and stiff competition. Laser Electrical Rosebank also scooped up the Gold Award for Excellence in Systems -Electrical, and Bronze Award for Outstanding Growth – Electrical.

The top award recognises not only their ability to grow their business remarkably in a tough market but also for their strong support of the Laser Systems and their ability to use them fully to their advantage to drive efficiencies and promote growth. As a team they have earned the respect of fellow Laser members which proves them to be a great ambassador for the Group and for other members to aspire to.

Laser Electrical Rosebank is the founding business upon which the Laser Franchise was built upon. Based in Avondale, on Rosebank Road it was established in 1982 by two enterprising young electricians, David Clemmett and Peter Bassett and has grown to become one of Auckland’s largest electrical contracting companies currently with a staff of 45. Being the original success story of Laser, they continue to set the benchmark for the rest of the Laser businesses.

While the company has won a string of awards in previous years, winning the top award this year was especially bitter sweet. The past year has been particularly tough not only with the tough economic climate but with the tragic death of founder and director Peter Bassett. However Laser Electrical Rosebank have been growing their service and maintenance division with 5 service men dedicated to both commercial, light industrial and domestic installation and repair works. They service the local business community as well as a client base throughout Auckland.
